Our Regenerative Farm
Visiting Ironbound is experiential starting from the moment guests enter our driveway off of pastoral County Road 579. Follow the flower-lined paths leading up to our Ciderhouse and you will quickly learn we have a lot to offer: flame-grilled menu specials fresh off the Mother Fire, steaming mugs of hot mulled cider and frosty cups of cider slushies, live music in the Courtyard, our farm market stocked with goods from our local network of partners, our historic barn-turned-Tasting Room - and more!
Regenerative agriculture is the foundation for all that we do, from how we produce and source ingredients to the ethos of our business. Whether it’s the ingredients of our Tasting Room’s food and beverage menus, the eggs sold in our market, or the fresh-pressed apple juice used in our ciders, it all comes together in a way that leaves guests feeling connected and nourished.
How to Explore Ironbound’s Farmland
Friday Farm Tours
During the outdoor season, we host weekly one-hour walking tours on Friday evenings from 5-6 PM. Guided by Farm Manager Annie, guests have the chance to walk along our farm trails and learn about our regenerative farming practices. Interested visitors should gather in our market space. Please note tours depart no later than 5:15 PM and are weather-dependent.
Guests who participate will receive a 10% discount on a post-exploration meal in our Tasting Room and free slushies for the kids!
In the case of inclement weather, we will post updates on our social media for tour cancellations. Note that walking tours will include uneven terrain and inclines - please wear appropriate footwear and bring layers during the chilly months.
Weekend Petting Zoo
Buy a cup of animal treats in our market and head over to the livestock pen, located just up wooden the stairs from, and to the right of, our Courtyard. In the fashion of regenerative farming, we rotate our resident animals regularly, so you may be saying ‘hi’ to our goats or pigs, or even ducks on special occasions!
Feel free to feed the animals and interact with them through the petting zoo fence, but please never attempt to enter their enclosure. Be aware that some fences on our property are electric, so read signs carefully!
Garden Strolling
To the left of the Mother Fire, just up a short path and through a picturesque wooden archway, you will find our Chef’s Garden. The flowers, fruits, herbs, and vegetables that thrive here vary throughout the year in time with the seasons. Guests are welcome to grab a refreshment from our outdoor bar, stroll throughout the Chef’s Garden, and capture photos with our seasonal blooms, or just enjoy the view. You may even cross paths with our orchard specialist, Isaac, while you’re out there - be sure to say hello and ask him any questions you have about our farming practices!
